AMI Artists' Fixative Spray – protects drawings and paintings from smudging

AMI Artists' Fixative Spray (400 ml) fixes drawings and paintings so that lines and colours do not smudge. You can use it on pencil, charcoal and red chalk drawings as well as on watercolour, acrylic and oil paintings. Wax crayon and pastel chalk pictures can also be sealed with it.

The fixative dries quickly, is smudge-proof once dry and does not yellow, and the colours remain unchanged. The propellant is CFC-free. The 400 ml spray can sprays evenly and lasts for several larger pieces of work.

How to fix your work

Spray only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, and wear gloves and eye protection. Shake the can before use and test the spray on a spare sheet before you move on to your original. Lay the picture flat and spray from a distance of about 30 cm in several thin coats, leaving a short drying time in between. This forms an even protective film.

• Sprayed too close or too thickly: runs and blotches form, especially on watercolour paper.
• Charcoal and pastel smudge easily: start with a very fine mist and build up the layer slowly.
• Smudge and yellowing protection is especially useful for work that you will store, frame or transport afterwards.
