Schmincke LINO-Glanz – gloss medium for lino printing ink

Schmincke LINO-Glanz is a medium for lino printing: it increases the gloss of your lino printing ink and makes it more transparent. It has a high binder content, is water-based and contains gum arabic.

You can mix it into the printing ink or use it neat for overprinting. Applied neat, it gives the strongest gloss effect. When mixed, the amount you add determines how glossy and how transparent the ink becomes: the more medium, the stronger both effects.

Using LINO-Glanz

The medium is ready to use and is applied undiluted. The result depends on how you use it:

• For mixing: at least 1 part medium to 3 parts lino printing ink. With more medium the ink becomes glossier and more transparent.
• For overprinting: applied neat, it gives the strongest gloss effect.
• LINO-Glanz slows drying. Allow a little more drying time for mixtures.
• Schmincke recommends individual preliminary tests, for example on a test print with your paper and your ink.

Care and storage

Close the tube immediately after use. Clean your tools with water or LINO-Clean. Store the medium in a cool, dry place and protect it from frost.
