Revell Email Color metallic opaque – synthetic resin enamel paint for model making

Revell Email Color metallic opaque is a synthetic resin enamel paint in a 14 ml tin for model making. The paint does not attack the plastic surface of plastic models, so you can paint kit parts directly. Many other materials can also be painted with it.

Choose your colour from the options. The range includes other opaque finishes, namely matt, gloss and satin. This listing is for the metallic finish. With metallic paints the pigments tend to settle in the tin, so stir thoroughly before painting.

Applying with a brush or spray gun

You can apply the paint straight from the tin with a brush. For a spray gun, thin it with Revell Color Mix. All shades in the Email Color range except the signal colours can be mixed with one another, so you can mix your own shades. Apply two thin coats rather than one thick one to avoid brush marks and runs.

Drying and cleaning

According to Revell, you can overpaint a colour after just 4–6 hours. The paint is fully dry after 24 hours. For details or masking work, it is therefore better to wait for the full drying time. Clean brushes with Revell Painta Clean and the spray gun with Revell Airbrush Clean.
