Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 Wooden Case with 80 Colouring Pencils

Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 – 80 colouring pencils with creamy lead in a wooden case

The Caran d'Ache LUMINANCE 6901 wooden case contains 80 colouring pencils with a permanent, creamy lead for portraits, illustrations and finely graded drawings. The 80 pencils consist of 76 different shades and 4 repeated shades. In addition there are 2 FULL BLENDER-Bright and 2 GRAFWOOD graphite pencils (HB and 5B), so there are 84 pencils in the case altogether.

The lead is 3.8 mm in diameter and has a high pigment concentration. The round, matt pencil is made of FSC-certified cedar wood and is manufactured in Switzerland. The pencils are permanent and not water-soluble.

Working with LUMINANCE 6901

Caran d'Ache lists layering colours, shading and mixed-media combinations as uses. The creamy lead can be built up in several thin layers with light pressure, so you can mix shades directly on the paper. Use the FULL BLENDER-Bright for soft transitions and shine. With the graphite pencils you can sketch beforehand or add shadows: HB is harder and lighter, 5B softer and darker. You can achieve wash effects by adding Supracolor Soft Aquarelle, while Pablo suits fine details.

Case and storage

The case is made of varnished birch wood with gold fittings and gold screen printing. The pencils sit on three removable trays with 28 places each and foam padding. This way you only take along the tray you need at the moment, and the tips are protected in transit.
