Mayco Stroke & Coat SPECKLED Sampler Set – 12 Speckled Effect Glazes

The Mayco Stroke & Coat SPECKLED sampler set contains 12 different speckled effect glazes, each in a 59 ml bottle. It lets you get to know the Speckled colour family without buying a large amount of every shade. The glazes are opaque and fire to a glossy finish, so no additional clear glaze is needed.

You can use them for fine details as well as for larger areas on earthenware and stoneware.

Application and firing

Apply the glaze with a brush to bisque-fired ceramics in several even coats. Let each coat dry before applying the next to avoid brush marks. Keep the foot ring free of glaze so that the piece does not stick to the kiln shelf. The pictures show the colours after firing at 1050 °C. At higher temperatures they change, so a test piece made with your own clay body and firing programme will show you the result in advance.

• Firing range: cone 06 (approx. 998 °C, guide value per Orton chart) to cone 10 (approx. 1285 °C, guide value per Orton chart)
