Prym Overlock Needles 80/90 – Spare Pack for Overlock and Coverlock Machines

Prym overlock machine needles (art. no. 154970) are replacement needles for domestic overlock and coverlock machines. The assortment contains 5 needles: 2 in size 80 and 3 in size 90. That way you have both sizes to hand for finer and slightly heavier knit fabrics.

According to Prym, the needles are designed for the demands of overlock machines, for example their high stitching speed. The reinforced shank and the special needle geometry significantly reduce the risk of needle breakage. According to the manufacturer, the needles with a medium ballpoint are suitable for jersey as well as knitted and stretch fabrics.

Which size for which fabric?

Choose the size to suit your fabric and thread. The finer size 80 suits thin knit fabrics, while size 90 suits heavier jersey. Change the needle as soon as the tip is blunt or the seam skips stitches. Prym describes the needles as universal; any standard overlock thread can be used.

Overlock or coverlock

According to Prym, the second thread groove supports chain stitches on overlock and coverlock machines. The needles are designed for domestic overlock machines. You must not use them in standard domestic sewing machines.
