Prym ergonomics circular knitting needle – flexible, quiet, with teardrop tip

You can use the circular knitting needle from the prym.ergonomics series by Prym to knit in the round or back and forth, for example for hats, jumpers or scarves. Needle and cable are joined in one piece, so the weight of larger projects rests on the cable and not on your wrists. Choose the needle size and length from the options.

The needle is made of high-performance plastic, is slightly flexible and moves with you as you knit. According to Prym, it makes no clicking noise. The circular knitting needle won the Red Dot Design Award 2016.

What is different when knitting

The teardrop tip makes it easier to guide the yarn, and according to Prym the yarn does not slip off the needle as easily. This helps beginners in particular. The cross-section changes: towards the stitch-forming part the needle is round, after that it becomes triangular. This lets the stitches glide easily over the needle body. The fine steel cable is coated in plastic, does not form a spiral and, according to Prym, does not tangle. The stitches therefore travel from the needle onto the cable and back without catching.

Choosing needle size and length

The needle size depends on your yarn and your pattern, the length on the number of stitches. For work in the round, the cable should be shorter than the circumference of your knitted piece so that the stitches are not stretched too much. For larger pieces such as blankets or jumpers you need a longer needle on which all the stitches fit comfortably. What matters is the tension given in your pattern.
