addi SOS Lifeline for addiClick – securing a row of stitches in complex patterns

The addi SOS set consists of three red slotted cables in 60, 80 and 100 cm for the addiClick system. They let you secure a row of stitches in complex patterns, in case you need to rip back later. According to addi, the cables fit all addiClick tips and addiClick accessories.

You thread a spare yarn into the slot of the cable as you carry on knitting. If you spot a mistake later, you only rip back as far as that row, because the stitches stay on the thread. This is useful for lace patterns, cables or lace edgings, where dropped stitches are hard to pick up again.

Using the lifeline

You thread it in as you knit. It is best to do this on a row where a pattern repeat is complete, as you can then restart neatly from there if you find a mistake.

• Hold the cable firmly and push it together slightly so that the slot opens.
• Thread the spare yarn into the slot.
• Carry on knitting as normal.

Which cable length to choose

The set contains three lengths. Use the shorter cable for smaller circumferences and the longest for larger pieces. That way you have a suitable cable to hand for projects of different sizes.
