Rayher Polystyrene Disc, Ø 15 cm, 4 cm High

Rayher Polystyrene Disc Ø 15 cm, 4 cm High – a Base for Creative Projects

The Rayher polystyrene disc (art. no. 3003300) is a white round disc made of polystyrene (EPS), 15 cm in diameter and 4 cm high. You can use it as a basic shape for crafts, decoration and model making, or as a base board for wedding cakes. The surface is smooth and the structure even. This means the disc can be painted, covered, coated or cut to size.

The disc is light, sturdy and keeps its shape. As a base for floral arrangements, mosaic, or napkin and Décopatch work, your piece stays easy to handle and does not become heavy. The series is available in Ø 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 cm, each with a height of 4 cm or 7 cm. This disc is the flat version, 4 cm high.

Working with the disc

For painting and covering, use water-based acrylic paint and craft glue. Paints, spray varnishes and glues containing solvents can attack and dissolve polystyrene, so test them first on an inconspicuous spot or prime the disc beforehand. A sharp knife or a polystyrene cutter is suitable for cutting to size. Cut with light pressure and long, steady strokes to keep the cut edge smooth and reduce crumbling.

Use as a base board

For wedding cakes or dummy cakes, the disc serves as a base. If something edible is actually to stand on it, place a film or a cake board in between so that food does not lie directly on the polystyrene.
