Rayher Polystyrene Pumpkin Assortment, 3 pieces

Rayher polystyrene pumpkins to paint, felt and decorate

The Rayher polystyrene pumpkin assortment (art. no. 3349300) consists of three polystyrene pumpkins to paint and decorate, for example for Halloween or as autumn decorations. You get one larger pumpkin measuring 7 × 6 cm and two smaller ones measuring 5.5 × 4 cm each. The different sizes make it easy to put together a little group.

The pumpkins can also be covered with felting wool using a felting needle. This gives you soft pumpkins with a wool covering, which you can make in orange, yellow or green.

Decorating the pumpkins

Water-based paints such as acrylic paint are suitable for painting. Solvent-based paints and spray varnishes can dissolve polystyrene, so test them first on an inconspicuous spot. Apply the paint in thin layers and let it dry between coats; it will then cover evenly and will not pool in the grooves.

Needle felting with felting wool

Lay thin wool fibres on the pumpkin and stab them vertically into the polystyrene with the felting needle until they hold firmly. Work on a soft surface and do not stab too deeply, so the needle does not break.
