Rayher Styropor® Polystyrene Disc Ø 30 cm, 4 cm High

Rayher Styropor® Disc Ø 30 cm, 4 cm High – Base for Crafting and Decorating

The Styropor® disc from Rayher (art. no. 3003600) is a round polystyrene board, 30 cm in diameter and 4 cm high, for crafting and decorating. It is often used as a base board for wedding cakes. Thanks to its large surface, it also works as a stand for arrangements, models and decorative displays that need a level surface.

The disc belongs to a Rayher series with diameters from 10 to 30 cm. This one is 4 cm high; the series is also available in a 7 cm height.

Working with the disc

You can cut Styropor® with a sharp knife or a polystyrene cutter. For gluing and painting, use solvent-free products, for example craft glue and water-based acrylic paint. Glues, paints and spray varnishes containing solvents attack Styropor® and make it collapse. For decoupage or mosaic work, it helps to seal the surface with a coat of paint first. If the disc is to serve as a cake base, cover it with foil or a cake board first.

Which size to choose

At 30 cm in diameter, this disc is the largest in the series. It offers plenty of standing room for tiered constructions or larger arrangements. Smaller discs suit single figures or small arrangements. Choose the 7 cm high discs if you want to push floral foam or supports in deeper.
