Rayher glass mosaic tiles in shades of blue are square, through-coloured glass tiles measuring 1 × 1 cm for mosaic work. The tub contains 1 kg, which is approx. 1,500 pieces. That is enough for pictures, flower pots or mirror frames, for example. The tiles are sorted into a range of blues, so you can lay colour gradients and water motifs without a lot of sorting.

Wood, glass, metal, terracotta, ceramic, polystyrene and concrete are all suitable bases. If you are planning a design with several colour ranges, the version in shades of green goes well with it.

Working with the mosaic tiles

Draw your design on the base and lay the tiles out dry first. That way you can see where tiles need cutting before any adhesive is involved. Use mosaic nippers to cut them and wear safety goggles, as breaking glass produces sharp-edged splinters.

• Choose an adhesive to suit the base and apply it thinly so that it does not squeeze out between the tiles.
• Set the tiles with an even gap and press them down lightly.
• Once dry, you can fill the joints with grout and remove excess grout with a damp sponge.

How much area will you cover?

With 1 × 1 cm tiles and approx. 1,500 pieces, you can theoretically cover an area of about 40 × 40 cm if you set the tiles without wide joints. With gaps between the tiles, the area will be correspondingly smaller. For larger projects, allow some extra, as tiles are lost when cutting and fitting them at the edges.
