Rayher Sweety Glass Mosaic Mix – coloured glass tiles for mosaics

The Rayher Sweety Glass Mosaic Mix (art. no. 14876999) contains 500 g of assorted mosaic tiles made of through-coloured recycled glass, approx. 295 pieces in a tin. The surface is glossy and the corners and edges are rounded. This makes the tiles easy to handle when you lay mosaics.

The tiles are frost-proof and heat-resistant. You can therefore use them for tealight holders, wooden trays, mirrors and jewellery, as well as pot stands. The mix can be combined with many other Rayher mosaic tiles.

Working with the glass tiles

First lay out your design on the base without adhesive. This lets you see how the colours are distributed, and you can still swap tiles around. Then stick the tiles down with mosaic adhesive and leave the adhesive to dry. Next, fill the joints with grout: work it into the gaps with a spatula and wipe off any excess with a damp sponge. Alternatively, press the tiles into jewellery concrete.

Cutting tiles to size

At a thickness of approx. 6 mm, the tiles can be cut easily with mosaic nippers, for example for edge pieces or curves. Wear safety goggles, as splinters can fly off when glass is cut.
