Rayher copper jewellery starter set – wire, clasps and crimp beads for necklaces and bracelets

The Rayher copper starter set with jewellery findings contains the basics you need to make your own necklaces and bracelets: 2 × 3 m of jewellery wire, 10 lobster clasps, 50 crimp beads, 20 crimp covers and 20 jump rings. Everything is sorted in a plastic box with 6 compartments, so you can find the small parts quickly and store the set neatly.

According to Rayher, the set is suitable for trying out jewellery making. Beads are not included; choose them to suit your taste. The wire is stainless steel and the other parts are brass. The set is also available in silver and gold.

Making a necklace or bracelet

First thread a crimp bead onto the wire, form a loop and pass the end of the wire back through the bead. Attach a ring or the lobster clasp directly to the loop. Then squeeze the crimp bead with pliers so that it sits firmly on the wire. Next, thread on your beads and finish the piece at the other end with a second crimp bead and a ring. You can place a crimp cover over the flattened crimp bead and close it: it hides the crimp and gives the end a neat finish.

Who is the set for?

With 2 × 3 m of wire and 10 lobster clasps, you can make several pieces of jewellery and try out different lengths and arrangements. Because 50 crimp beads are included, there is also room for error if a join does not hold at the first attempt. Choose beads to match your own style.
