Working with the feather

For hats, tuck the quill under the hatband or sew it on with a few stitches. For costumes and decoration, fix it with hot glue or fabric glue. For arrangements, you can attach the quill to a stick with floristry wire. If the feather is too long for your project, trim the lower end of the quill with scissors. Take care to leave the vane intact.
