Rico Design Baby Art Set – Handprint or Footprint in a Photo Frame

With the Baby Art Set from Rico Design (art. no. 08603.00.00), you can capture your baby's handprint or footprint in a keepsake. The set contains a white folding photo frame, 200 g of special modelling clay and instructions. The print is made in one half of the frame, and a 10 × 15 cm photo goes in the other.

Before use, the clay is soaked in hot water and then kneaded. No firing or baking is needed: the print dries flat in the air, as described in the instructions.

Making the print

Choose a calm moment, as your baby needs to keep still for the print. It is best to have a second person to help.

• Place the bagged clay in hot water.
• Take the clay out of the bag and knead it well for about 10 minutes. If it becomes too firm, add a few drops of water.
• Press the clay into the intended half of the frame with the heel of your hand or the back of a spoon, then wash your hands with soap.
• Press your child's hand or foot firmly into the clay for at least 20 seconds, then wash the skin thoroughly with soap.
• Lay the print flat to dry for three days.

This is a craft kit for adults who want to make a print of a baby's hand or foot, for example as a keepsake or a gift. As the frame, clay and instructions are included, you need very few extra supplies. You place the 10 × 15 cm photo in the second half of the frame, so that picture and print can be displayed or stored together when opened.
