Efco Nylon Thread – Transparent Thread for Jewellery and Hanging Decorations

Efco nylon thread is a transparent thread made of 100% polyamide for stringing beads and hanging decorations discreetly. One spool holds 100 m, enough for several pieces of jewellery or hangings.

The thread comes in different thicknesses from 0.15 to 1.0 mm. Choose the thickness from the options. The thicker the thread, the higher the stated breaking strength: from 0.9 kg to 40 kg.

Which thickness suits?

First consider the hole in your beads: the thread must fit through it, and twice if you are knotting or doubling the thread. Thin threads suit fine beads with a small hole and lightweight jewellery. Choose thicker sizes for larger, heavier beads or if a little more weight will hang from it. The breaking strength is only a guide to load capacity; allow a generous reserve when hanging things, as knots weaken any thread.

Tips for use

Smooth synthetic threads let knots come undone more easily than yarn. Knot several times and, for jewellery, put a tiny drop of jewellery glue on the knot. Trim the thread only once it has dried and leave a short end.
