Getting good results

Roll out the dough evenly so that the embossing is the same depth everywhere. Dust the cutter lightly with flour, or better with cornflour for fondant, and place it down straight. Press it straight down with even pressure, without tilting it. If the dough sticks in the cutter, gently release it with your fingertip. Dough that has been chilled briefly in the fridge before baking keeps its outline and embossing better when baked.

For dough and modelling

With modelling clay, salt dough or Fimo, roll the material out to an even thickness and cut out the motif as you would with dough. If you use the cutter for modelling materials such as Fimo, do not use it for food afterwards.
