The da Vinci FIT BRISTLE fan brush, series 479, in size No. 3 is a vegan synthetic brush for painting ceramics and porcelain, for example cups, plates, bowls and decorative pieces. You get a single brush, not a set.

The handle is short and green lacquered. This helps you guide the brush with control on curved or small surfaces. The fibres are synthetic and of medium flexibility.

Working with the fan brush

The splayed fibres spread colour in fine strokes. You can use them to create textures such as grass, fur or foliage, dab on patterns or blend transitions on the piece. Pick up only a little paint or glaze and wipe the brush off on the rim of the container. If there is too much paint, the fibres stick together and you get blotches instead of fine lines. Rinse the brush from time to time so that dried paint does not clog the fan.

Choosing a brush

The fan brush is intended for textures and soft transitions. For outlines, fine lines and details you will also need a round or pointed brush. For applying glaze over large areas, a wider flat brush is more suitable.
