da Vinci COLINEO Round Brush for Oil and Acrylic, Series 1621

da Vinci COLINEO Series 1621 – round synthetic brush for oil and acrylic

The COLINEO oil painting brush, series 1621 by da Vinci, is a round brush for oil and acrylic paints. Its fibre blend consists of straight and wavy synthetic fibres of different lengths. It imitates kolinsky sable hair: the fibres have extra fine tips and form a precise point. This helps with fine lines and details. It also offers high elasticity and good paint pick-up.

The brush has a silver ferrule, and the long hexagonal handle is made of water-resistant Hi-tech Multicolor laminated wood. Choose your size from the options. The series is available in several sizes.

What the round brush is suited to

The round shape is suited to lines, outlines and details as well as to transparent, glazing applications of oil and acrylic paint. The elastic fibres spring back and form a fine point again after washing out. This lets you control the stroke width through pressure: the tip makes thin lines, and with more pressure the stroke becomes wider.

Choosing and care

Choose a small size for small formats and fine details, and a larger one for bigger areas and broader lines. Other brush shapes are more practical for covering large areas. Wipe excess paint off on the edge of the palette before applying, so the tip does not clog. Wash the brush out thoroughly after painting and do not stand it in water with the fibres facing down.
