BeadSmith Hemostat Clamp HC27 – holds beads, wire and cord securely
The BeadSmith hemostat clamp (art. no. HC27) is a pair of locking forceps in stainless steel, which you use to hold beads, cord or wire temporarily while making jewellery. The jaws are coated with nylon. They give extra grip without marking the surface of the material.
The handles have a 3-step lock. You squeeze the forceps shut, they click into place, and both your hands are free. The forceps have a box-joint construction and measure 5 inches.
Using the clamp
When threading beads, clamp the forceps to the end of the cord or wire. This stops the beads of an unfinished piece of jewellery from sliding off again. Choose the locking step to suit the material: let the forceps click in until the material is held securely. The smooth jaws are also suitable for holding small parts in craft or watchmaking work. If you are looking for serrated jaws instead, the HC26 forceps are the matching version.
