ReStyle cross stitch canvas is a stiff plastic canvas with mesh size 7, which gives approx. 3 crosses per cm. You get 3 pieces measuring 26.5 x 34 cm.

The canvas is stiff and the holes are larger than on fabric, so it is easier to hold and stitch on. According to ReStyle, this makes it well suited to teaching children to stitch. As the material keeps its shape, you can also stitch three-dimensional projects such as houses, baskets or boxes.

Stitching on plastic canvas

You work as you would on fabric: stitch each cross over one square between the plastic bars. Use a tapestry needle with a blunt tip so that the thread does not catch on the bars. Do not knot the thread; instead, run the thread end under the first stitches on the back. The bars do not grip the thread like woven fabric, so pull the stitches evenly and do not leave the thread too loose.

For baskets, boxes and houses

For three-dimensional projects, cut the pieces out of the canvas with scissors, stitch them individually and join them together afterwards. As you start with 3 pieces, you can make the sides and base from several sheets.
