Prym quilting hoop Ø 40 cm – beech wood hoop for holding quilting and patchwork pieces

The Prym quilting hoop (art. no. 611683) holds your patchwork or quilting piece flat and taut so you can quilt it by hand. With a diameter of 40 cm and a hoop height of 23 mm, the piece is easy to turn and reposition as you need.

The round hoop is made of multi-layer glued beech wood. A brass adjusting screw on the side lets you fine-tune the tension. The surface is sanded smooth and is gentle on the fabric.

How to put your piece in the hoop

Lay the layers of your quilt smoothly on top of each other and position the hoop so the fabric sits evenly in the ring. Then tighten the brass screw and adjust the tension. The fabric should be smooth but not overstretched, otherwise the work will pucker as soon as you take it out of the hoop. Check the tension briefly each time you move the hoop.

Which diameter?

Prym also offers this hoop with a diameter of 36 cm. The larger 40 cm ring holds more area each time you set it up, while the smaller one is easier to handle for tight patterns.
