Prym gridded pattern paper – tissue paper for copying and enlarging

Prym gridded pattern paper (art. no. 610462) is a roll of semi-transparent tissue paper with a printed scale. You can use it to copy and transfer sewing patterns, make pattern templates and enlarge patterns or motifs.

The roll measures 1 m × 10 m and is supplied rolled rather than folded, so the paper lies flat. Because it is semi-transparent, you can see the lines of your original through the paper and trace them directly.

Transferring a sewing pattern

Unroll the paper over the original, secure it with pins or adhesive tape and trace the lines with a soft pencil. Transfer markings such as grainline, notches and size details too, so that your copy is complete. Only cut along the lines once you have added seam allowances, unless your pattern already includes them.

When the grid helps

The gridded paper is mainly useful for enlarging: you copy the lines of a smaller original square by square onto the larger grid of the paper, then join the points to form the outlines. Prym also makes classic pattern paper without a grid; it is sufficient for copying at the same size.
