Graine Créative Fox Embroidery Kit – Wooden Hoop and Design Template

The fox embroidery kit from Graine Créative's Oh my Broderie range contains everything you need for an embroidered fox picture: cotton fabric, embroidery thread, needle, wooden embroidery hoop and a design template. The design shows a fox with its head held high, surrounded by white flowers. It is worked in simple stitches, so the kit is also suitable for getting started with embroidery.

The wooden embroidery hoop has a diameter of 25 cm. The fabric measures 35 × 35 cm and leaves a margin all round for fixing it in the hoop. Use the enclosed carbon paper to transfer the design onto the fabric, and you can start straight away.

How to embroider the fox

Smooth the fabric before you begin so that the design does not become distorted. Then place the carbon paper between the fabric and the template and trace over the lines with a pen. This transfers the fox and the flowers onto the fabric. Next, put the fabric in the wooden hoop and pull it taut, otherwise the embroidery will wrinkle. Then embroider the design following the instructions, using the nine skeins of thread.

Thread tip

Each skein is 7 m long. Plan your colours carefully and divide the thread between the areas as set out in the instructions. Start with the larger areas and embroider the fine details last. When you have finished, you can leave the picture in the hoop and hang it up.
