Stoneware Casting Slip 209 for Fine Ceramic Work
Goerg & Schneider Stoneware Casting Slip 209 is a fine, grog-free casting slip developed for detailed ceramic work. After firing, it produces a light cream-coloured surface. Its fine composition allows delicate structures, precise contours and particularly smooth surfaces to be reproduced reliably.
The casting slip is ideal for slip casting in absorbent plaster moulds. It can be used to create decorative ceramics, figures, vessels and tableware forms. Its wide firing range from 1000°C to 1300°C provides excellent flexibility when working with different firing temperatures and compatible glazes.
Thanks to its high temperature stability, Stoneware Casting Slip 209 delivers consistent and reliable firing results. As it contains no grog, it is particularly suitable for projects where fine surfaces and precise reproduction of the mould are important.
Our recommendation: Stir the casting slip thoroughly and evenly before use. Always use clean, completely dry plaster moulds and avoid introducing air bubbles. The required casting time depends on the absorbency of the mould and the desired wall thickness.
When producing functional tableware, use a suitable food-safe glaze and follow the recommended firing instructions.
