The Rico Design Ricorumi Nilli Nilli rainbow set of 10 contains ten balls of chenille yarn in rainbow colours for crocheting amigurumi figures. According to the manufacturer, the yarn has been developed specially for this purpose. The chenille surface looks soft and fluffy and gives animals, dolls and other figures a cuddly feel.

Each ball weighs 25 g and has a length of 65 m, so the set comes to 250 g. Each of the ten shades is included once. That works well for colourful figures and details, but 65 m can be tight for large areas in a single colour.

Crocheting with chenille yarn

The manufacturer gives a needle size of 3 mm. In the fluffy chenille surface, individual stitches are harder to see than in smooth yarn. A stitch marker at the start of the round helps you count. When you change colours, sew in the yarn ends with the tapestry needle inside the figure straight after the change.
