Mars micro 775 mechanical pencil 0.9 mm – pocket-safe, with rubber grip zone and eraser
The STAEDTLER Mars micro 775 with a 0.9 mm lead diameter is a mechanical pencil for writing, sketching and drawing. The lead gives a slightly wider line than the fine sizes. That is useful when you make notes, sketches or technical drawings with a bolder line and want the lead to break less easily.
The clip, push button and tip are made of metal, and the barrel is plastic. The rubber grip zone gives a non-slip hold. The lead sleeve retracts, which makes the pencil pocket-safe: the tip will not poke through your jacket pocket or pencil case. Under the push button there is an eraser that is PVC-free and latex-free.
Which lead size suits you?
The Mars micro 775 is available in 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and 0.9 mm. The 0.9 mm is the widest size in the range. It suits you if you write with more pressure and like to sketch with a soft, bold line. For fine details and very small handwriting, choose the 0.3 or 0.5 mm instead. You can tell the line width from the ISO colour code on the pencil.
Drawing with a ruler and stencil
The lead sleeve is rigid and cylindrical, so you can guide the pencil close against a ruler or stencil. Press the push button until the lead sticks out far enough to write. Do not pull it out too far, as a long exposed lead breaks more easily under pressure. To store the pencil, retract the lead sleeve again.
