Pitt Artist Pen Brush wallet of 12 earth colours – brush pens with pigmented ink

The wallet of 12 Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen Brush contains ink pens with a brush tip in warm earth colours. You can use them for illustrations, fashion sketches, layouts or ink sketches without needing an ink pot and brush. The tip is flexible and holds its shape: with light pressure you get fine lines, and with more pressure and the pen held flat you get broader strokes and small areas of colour.

The ink is pigmented, highly lightfast, waterproof and permanent. According to Faber-Castell, it is also odourless, acid-free and pH-neutral, and does not bleed through the paper. That is handy if you draw on both sides of the page or use a sketchbook with thin pages.

Working with the brush tip

Try the pens first on an offcut of your paper, as the look of the line depends on the paper. For fine outlines, hold the pen upright and press only lightly. For broad strokes, hold it flatter and press a little harder. Let the ink dry before drawing over it so nothing smudges. Because it is waterproof, you can colour drawings with watercolours once they are dry without the lines running. Put the cap back on straight after drawing so the tip does not dry out.

The earth colours suit warm, natural subjects such as landscapes, portraits or autumn moods. If you would rather work with cool shades or want a wider choice of colours, the series also includes wallets of 12 in greys and basic colours. Single colours are also available separately if you want to add to a set later.
