Faber-Castell Neon Marker – bright water-based ink for many surfaces

The Faber-Castell Neon Marker is a marker pen with bright, water-based neon ink. You can use it to write on and decorate paper, card, glass, plastic, metal and stone. Choose your colour from the options. The marker is available singly and also as a set of 6.

According to the manufacturer, the ink flows evenly through the 1.5 mm fibre tip. You do not need to pump or shake the pen and can start straight away. The ink is odourless and does not bleed through paper, so you can also write on thinner paper without the reverse showing through.

Fixing and durability

Once dry, the ink is smudge- and splash-proof. If you fix it in the oven at 160 °C, it becomes waterproof according to the manufacturer. Even then it is not dishwasher safe. Only fix materials that can withstand 160 °C: plastic can warp at this temperature.

Tips for use

Test the colour first on an inconspicuous spot or an offcut of the material, as the effect depends on the surface. On smooth surfaces such as glass, plastic or metal, a mistake can usually still be wiped off while the ink is fresh. This is no longer possible after fixing.
