Efco gold-coloured pins – for sequin work on polystyrene

The gold-coloured pins from Efco are made for sequin work: you pin sequins directly onto polystyrene shapes to decorate them. The tin contains 500 g of pins, enough for larger surfaces or several projects.

The pins come in three lengths: 10 mm, 13 mm and 18 mm. Choose the length from the options.

Working with the sequin technique

If you like, sketch a pattern on the polystyrene shape first. Then thread a sequin onto a pin and push it into the polystyrene. When the sequins are pinned close together, the gold-coloured pin heads often stay visible and go well with gold or multicoloured sequins. Pin the rows so that each sequin slightly overlaps the previous one, and you get a solid, scale-like surface.

Choosing the length

The pin should always be clearly shorter than the thickness of the polystyrene shape, so that it does not come out on the other side. For flat or small shapes, choose the short length; for larger, thicker shapes, use the longer pins.
