Prym knitting hook – lifting loops over and picking up yarn

The Prym knitting hook (art. no. 225125) lifts loops and picks up yarn when you knit without needles, for example with Prym knitting dolls, knitting ring sets, looms, the Strick-Ding or knitting mills.

The hook is made of steel and set in a slim, non-slip handle made of soft plastic. At 13 cm long, it is easy to handle, and you can pick up the loops precisely without slipping.

Working with the knitting hook

On a knitting doll, knitting ring or knitting mill, several loops sit one above the other on a peg. Use the hook to catch the lower loop, lift it over the freshly laid yarn and over the peg, and let it drop to the inside. This is how the tube grows, stitch by stitch. The most common mistake is pulling the yarn too tight, which makes the lower loop almost impossible to catch. Lay the yarn loosely around the pegs and lift the loop over without pulling.
