Prym Knooking Needle Alu 6 mm – Crochet and Knitting in One Tool

The Prym knooking needle alu 6 mm is an aluminium needle that combines crochet and knitting. At the front there is a hook like on a crochet hook, at the back an elongated eye section for threading. You pull a thread through the eye, and the stitches stay on it as you work. So in knooking you work with one needle, but, as in knitting, the stitches are held on a cord.

With a diameter of 6 mm and a length of 16.5 cm, it is a medium-thickness needle, between the fine and the very thick sizes. The needle is blue, and the pack contains 1 piece.

Working with the knooking needle

First pull the thread through the eye. Then crochet the stitches with the hook; they stay on the thread as you go. When the row is finished, pull the thread through, turn the work and continue on the other side. This produces a stitch pattern that differs from ordinary crochet and knitting.

6 mm or 4 mm?

The diameter determines the stitch size: with the 6 mm needle you work thicker yarn and get larger, looser stitches than with the 4 mm needle. The size you need is given in your pattern.
