Prym perforated waistband interfacing 40 mm, white – iron-on for wide skirt and trouser waistbands

Prym perforated waistband interfacing 40 mm in white is an iron-on interfacing tape that reinforces and stabilises skirt and trouser waistbands. The three perforated lines mark the fold and the seam allowances, so you can fold and topstitch the waistband evenly.

At 40 mm wide, the tape is intended for a wide waistband. It is 4 m long and white.

Using the waistband interfacing

Cut the tape to the length of your waistband and iron it onto the wrong side of the waistband strip. Set the iron to suit your outer fabric; with delicate fabrics, it is worth testing on an offcut first. Then fold the fabric along the punched lines and topstitch the waistband. The perforation shows you the lines for the fold and the seam allowance.

Which width should you choose?

The 40 mm width is intended for a wide waistband. For narrower waistbands of 25 mm or 30 mm, Prym has its own interfacing tapes in the range. Choose the width to match the waistband width in your pattern.
