Prym Crochet Hook Set with Soft Grip, 8 Hooks, 2–6 mm

Prym Crochet Hook Set with Soft Grip – 8 Hook Sizes from 2 to 6 mm

The Prym crochet hook set (art. no. 195970) contains 8 crochet hooks with a soft grip in sizes 2.0 / 2.5 / 3.0 / 3.5 / 4.0 / 4.5 / 5.0 and 6.0 mm. It covers many yarn weights, from fine cotton thread to thicker wool, so you don't need to buy individual hooks separately.

The handles are colour-coded by hook size, and the size is also marked in the centre of each hook. This makes it easy to find the right hook again, even when several are lying loose. According to Prym, the soft-touch grip is designed for longer crochet sessions. The thumb rest guides the yarn evenly and helps produce an even stitch pattern.

Which hook size suits which yarn?

What matters is the hook size given on the ball band of your yarn or in your pattern. Fine hooks of 2.0 to 3.0 mm are used for thinner yarns and small pieces, while sizes from 4.0 mm suit thicker wool. If you are unsure which size falls in between, crochet a tension swatch and compare it with the tension given in your pattern.

Useful features of the set

The colour coding runs from purple through orange to yellow. This lets you recognise the sizes at a glance, and the size stays legible as a printed marking. When a pattern calls for a change of hook, for example for an edging or cuff, you can simply pick up the next size.
