Prym Jersey Press Studs 18 mm – No-Sew for Thin and Stretchy Fabrics

Prym jersey press studs (art. no. 390195) are no-sew press studs for thin, stretchy fabrics of the kind often used for baby and children's clothing. The card holds 6 silver-coloured brass press studs, 18 mm in size, and the tool for fitting them is included.

You do not need to punch a hole first: the integrated prong ring pushes the fabric aside rather than cutting through it, which is gentler on very fine fabrics. The press studs close with a light closing force and are rustproof.

Fitting the press studs

The 18 mm press studs can only be fitted with the tool supplied; other pliers or aids do not fit. Mark the position on both layers of fabric and try one out on a fabric offcut first, so you can see how the prong ring sits in the material and whether the stud closes securely.

Which size to choose

At 18 mm, these press studs are the larger version in the Prym jersey range. For smaller items there are jersey press studs in 10 mm. Both are intended for thin, stretchy fabrics, not for heavy fabrics that need a strong closing force.
