Prym Clear Reinforcing Buttons – a Secure Hold for Coats, Jackets and Bags

Prym reinforcing buttons strengthen the buttons on coats, jackets and bags that get heavy use, as well as on heavy fabrics. You sew them on underneath the button. They hold the button more securely and protect the thread.

The square buttons measure 11 × 11 mm and are made of clear polyester. They are almost invisible. With four sewing holes, they suit buttons with two or four holes. The pack contains 20 pieces. That is enough for several garments, depending on how many buttons you want to reinforce.

Using the reinforcing buttons

Sew the reinforcing button on together with the top button in a single step: the thread passes through the holes of both buttons and the fabric. For two-hole buttons, use two of the four holes in the reinforcing button; for four-hole buttons, use all four. As the reinforcing button acts as a spacer between the fabric and the button, the button is easier to fasten and unfasten. This also protects the thread. For thick coat fabrics, choose a strong thread.
