Wooden Triceratops Dinosaur – Blank to Paint, Decoupage and Decorate

The Triceratops is an untreated wooden blank to paint, cover with paper and decorate. It is 16 cm long, 10.5 cm high and 2.7 cm thick, and arrives fully assembled. You can start decorating straight away, with nothing to put together.

The surface has room for patterns, skin textures or colour gradients. The wood is natural and untreated. It is suitable for painting with acrylic or gouache paints and for POSCA pens. You can also cover it with paper, for example with Décopatch, or finish it with varnish.

Decorating the dinosaur

Raw wood soaks up paint. A coat of primer or a first layer of white acrylic paint helps light and bright colours cover better afterwards.

• If needed, sand the surface lightly with fine sandpaper and wipe off the dust.
• Apply water-based paints in thin layers and let each layer dry before applying the next.
• It is best to add patterns and details last, using POSCA pens or a fine brush.
• To cover it with paper, cut the paper to size and glue it down over the whole surface. You can then varnish it for protection.
