These glass mosaic pieces (2 kg, assorted) are polished pieces of broken glass in many colours and shapes, for mosaics on tabletops, mirror frames, garden objects and walls. The edges are smooth and rounded, which makes sorting and laying them more pleasant.

With pieces from 15 to 60 mm, you can cover larger areas quickly and add bold splashes of colour. The pieces are irregular in shape, so the result is a lively pattern with visible grout lines.

Laying your mosaic

First lay the pieces out dry on the surface. Thanks to the different sizes, you will quickly see which shape fits where and how you want to distribute the colours. Sort the pieces by colour beforehand, which makes gradients and patterns easier to lay. Then stick the pieces down with an adhesive suited to the surface and the place of use, and fill the gaps with grout once the adhesive has dried. With large pieces, grouting takes a little longer because the joints vary in width. If individual pieces need to be adjusted at edges or curves, you can use mosaic glass nippers. Wear gloves and safety goggles while doing so, as cut edges are sharp.

Which size to choose

The large pieces suit tabletops, mirror frames and wall pictures where areas of colour and contrast should stand out. For fine details and tight curves, broken glass pieces are also available in the smaller size of 8–20 mm. You can combine both sizes in one project.
