Beadalon Wire Protector for Wire up to Ø 0.56 mm – Protects Jewellery Wire at the Clasp

The Beadalon wire protector (also known as a wire guardian) protects jewellery wire or thread from wear at clasps and rings. The horseshoe-shaped loop has a channel that holds the wire, so it does not rub directly against the metal of the clasp.

The wire protector is designed for wire up to a maximum of Ø 0.56 mm (0.022 in). This helps you choose: the loop will not fit thicker wire. The pack contains 20 wire protectors, enough for several pieces of jewellery with a clasp. Choose your colour from the options.

Fitting the wire protector

The wire protector goes onto the wire end between the clasp and the crimp bead. The order matters so that the wire is guided in the channel:

• First thread a crimp bead onto the wire, then the wire protector.
• Pass the wire through one end hole of the loop, hook the clasp into the curve and pass the wire back through the other end hole, so that it lies in the channel of the loop.
• Thread the wire end back through the crimp bead, pull the loop closed and close the crimp bead with the pliers. Then trim the excess end.
