Revell Masking Tape 6 mm – narrow masking tape for crisp paint edges

Revell Masking Tape (art. no. 39694) is a masking tape for model making. It stops paint from creeping under the edge when you spray or brush, so clean borders do not blur. The tape conforms closely to the surface, has strong adhesion and removes cleanly without leaving residue. At 6 mm wide, it is the narrow version for fine details, decorative lines and small parts. The roll is 10 m long.

Revell also offers this tape in 10 mm and 20 mm widths. The 20 mm tape covers larger, flat areas more quickly, while the 6 mm tape suits narrow stripes and tight areas.

Masking cleanly

Apply the tape to a dry, dust-free surface and press the edge down firmly with your fingernail so that no paint can creep underneath. Because the tape conforms closely, it also follows gentle curves. For tight curves, apply it in short pieces. When airbrushing in particular, a firmly pressed edge gives clear transitions. After painting, peel the tape off slowly at a shallow angle.

On painted surfaces

The tape can also be applied to surfaces that have already been painted. Test the adhesion first on an inconspicuous spot, especially on freshly painted parts.
