Gütermann HT2 Fabric Glue – solvent-free adhesive for fabrics and appliqués

Gütermann HT2 fabric glue bonds textiles such as cotton, denim, linen, felt, wool and ribbons. You can use it for appliqués, textile decorations, hems and small repairs to clothing. The glue is solvent-free and comes in a 30 g aluminium tube.

It dries clear and forms a flexible adhesive film, so the glued area stays supple. The bond is resistant to washing and dry cleaning. It can also be used to fix the backs of buttons and zips.

Gluing with HT2

The glue is used on both parts, but it is applied to only one of them and left to dry briefly before the parts are joined. Here is how:

• Apply a thin layer of glue to one of the two parts.
• Leave to dry for about 5 minutes, then press the parts together.
• After approx. 30 minutes the glue is dry.
• For a firmer hold, you can then iron the glued parts.

Good to know

If any glue goes astray, it can be removed with water while still fresh. Apply it sparingly so that it does not soak through thin fabrics, and test it first on a hidden area of delicate or dark fabrics.
