UHU Plus Schnellfest – clear two-part epoxy adhesive for quick repairs

UHU Plus Schnellfest (art. no. 45700) is a solvent-free, two-part, epoxy resin-based adhesive for repairs and craft projects on ceramics, porcelain, glass, leather, wood, stone and metal. The adhesive cures clear, so bonded joints are barely noticeable in visible places.

With a pot life of approx. 5 minutes at 20 °C, you have a little time to position the parts; after 20 minutes the bond has handling strength, and after 12 hours it is fully cured. The adhesive is gap-filling, waterproof, chemical-resistant and can be painted over or varnished. The pack contains one tube each of resin and hardener (15 ml each, 35 g in total), a mixing tray and a spatula.

How to bond with UHU Plus Schnellfest

The surfaces must be dry, clean and free from grease, otherwise the bond will be weaker. Apply the adhesive at +5 to +35 °C. UHU does not recommend using it below +15 °C, as it reacts too slowly.

• Squeeze equal amounts from both tubes onto the mixing tray.
• Stir the resin and hardener thoroughly with the spatula until the mixture is even.
• Within approx. 5 minutes, apply the adhesive thinly to one or both surfaces and join the parts together.
• Hold the parts in place for at least 10 minutes, ideally with clamps or tape.
• Close the tubes again straight away and make sure you do not swap the caps. Otherwise adhesive residue will harden in the thread and the tubes will stick together.

What it is suitable for and what it is not

The adhesive bonds ceramics, porcelain, glass, leather, wood, stone and metal, including combinations of materials. It fills small gaps and uneven areas, so it suits breaks that do not fit together perfectly. It is not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE and silicone rubber. As a guide to quantity, 1 ml covers approx. 10 cm² at a layer thickness of 1 mm. Once cured, you can paint over or varnish the bonded joint. Store the tubes tightly closed, upright, in a cool, frost-free place.
