UHU Waterproof Wood Glue – water-resistant wood adhesive to EN 204 D3

UHU Holzleim WASSERFEST is a white, solvent-free wood glue based on a polyvinyl acetate dispersion, for bonding and laminating softwoods, hardwoods and exotic woods. It dries transparent and can be varnished once cured. Choose your size from the options.

The glue meets durability class D3 to EN 204. This means it is suitable for indoor areas where running water, condensation or high humidity occur regularly but only for short periods, and for outdoor areas that are not exposed to the weather. According to this classification, it is not intended for parts that are permanently exposed to rain and weather.

What the glue is suitable for

According to UHU, you can use it to bond wood and insulation boards, chipboard, multiplex plywood, MDF, hardboard, paper and card over the full surface. You can also laminate veneer and rigid plastic sheets such as HPL, Formica, Duropal or Resopal onto wooden substrates. For non-load-bearing, well-fitting wood joints, UHU lists finger joints, dovetail joints and mortise-and-tenon joints, as well as dowels and splines.

How to use it

The surface must be clean, dry and free of dust. Then bond in these steps:

• Apply the glue thinly and evenly to one or both parts; if needed, it can be thinned with water.
• Leave it to soak in for a few minutes. The open time is approx. 8 minutes at 20 °C, so plan the parts carefully beforehand.
• Press the parts together and hold them with a clamp or press for 30–60 minutes, at a clamping pressure of 2–5 kg/cm².

Residue, discolouration and storage

Remove fresh glue immediately with water; dried glue can only be removed mechanically. Avoid contact with iron and tools containing iron, as there is a risk of discolouration. Close the container tightly after use and store it in a dry, cool, frost-free place.
