Working with the Kolinsky round brush

Dip the brush in clean water before the first application of colour so that the hair can soak up water fully. For large-area glazes and gradients, load plenty of diluted paint and pull it across the wet paper in long strokes. To blend, run the brush, now only damp, over the edge of the colour until the transition becomes soft. The fine point also lets you paint lines and small details.

Care and choice of size

After painting, rinse the brush in clear water and leave it to dry lying flat. Do not leave it standing in the water jar, otherwise the tip will bend. For finer details choose a smaller size, for very large areas a larger one.
