The COLLEGE acrylic brush, series 8730, from da Vinci is a round brush for acrylic and oil painting. The synthetic fibres are elastic and come together in a round tip. It lets you paint fine lines and details while still holding paint well. The series is intended for study, school and hobby use.
The aluminium ferrule is seamless and highly polished, and sits firmly on the long handle, which is wood with a matt reddish-brown glaze. The handle's grippy surface gives you a secure hold. With the long handle, you work at a little distance from the canvas or canvas board.
What the round brush is used for
The round shape suits details and linear, drawing-style painting: outlines, fine lines, lettering or small motifs. The more pressure you apply, the broader the stroke becomes; with the tip, it stays narrow. For large areas, use a flat brush instead. The series is intended as a student brush for beginners, schoolchildren and hobby painters.
Which size to choose
Series 8730 is available in several sizes up to No. 12. The brush width increases with the size and reaches approx. 5.50 mm at No. 12. Use small numbers for details and lines, and larger ones for broader strokes and small areas. Choose the size from the options.
Care
Wash the brush out straight after painting. Acrylic paint dries quickly and glues the fibres to the ferrule, after which it is hard to remove. Remove oil paint with a suitable brush cleaner. Store the brush with the tip pointing upwards or lying flat so the fibres do not bend.
