Using the fan brush

When gilding, guide the brush along the curve of the hollow so that the bristles reach into the recess. In painting, pick up only a little paint and dab or drag the fan across the surface. This creates textures such as grass, foliage or fur. Too much paint makes the bristles stick together and the texture is lost. Wipe the brush off beforehand.

Care

Wash the brush thoroughly after use. The bristles often form clumps as you do so. Smooth them back into their original fan shape and leave the brush to dry lying flat.
