Clover Small Patchwork Scissors – Pointed, Finely Serrated Blade for Patchwork and Appliqué

The Clover small patchwork scissors (art. no. 493/CW) are compact scissors, 11.5 cm long, for patchwork, appliqué, chenille quilting, sewing and crafts. The stainless steel blade is pointed and finely serrated. The serration grips the fabric so that it slips less while you cut. According to Clover, the strong blades also cut through several layers of fabric.

The small size suits work where you cut close to the fabric and in tight spaces. The handle is made of ABS plastic.

Using the scissors

The pointed blade reaches corners, curves and tight spots. For appliqué, you trim the fabric close to the seam without cutting the stitches. When trimming seam allowances or clipping into corners, guide the tip carefully and cut only with the front part of the blade. You can also trim threads neatly with them. For long, straight cuts of larger pieces of fabric, it is better to use larger fabric shears or a rotary cutter.
