Prym Super Mini Rotary Cutter 18 mm – manoeuvrable for tight curves and small pieces

The Prym Super Mini rotary cutter 18 mm (art. no. 611580) cuts fabric for patchwork and quilting with a small blade 18 mm in diameter. It has a standard pen-size handle and, according to Prym, is intended for appliqué work, miniature quilts and tight curved cuts. The small blade lets you guide it nimbly and precisely around curves and through small shapes.

A locking blade guard secures the blade when you are not cutting. One blade is already included. When it becomes blunt, replace it.

When the Super Mini is the right size

The small blade follows tight radii where larger rotary cutters tend to veer off. This helps with appliqué shapes, small patchwork pieces and mini quilts. For long, straight cuts on wide lengths of fabric, a larger blade is usually more comfortable. Always work on a cutting mat and guide the blade evenly, without pressing sideways.

Care and changing the blade

Take the rotary cutter apart and clean it regularly. A small drop of sewing machine oil on the blade helps it run more smoothly and supports precise cuts. Change the blade in good time: sharp blades tire the hand less, while blunt ones cut inaccurately and damage the cutting mat. Used blades can still be used for cutting paper and card in your crafting.
