Prym Cutting Mat 30 × 45 cm – cm and Inch Scale, Protects the Rotary Cutter Blade

The Prym cutting mat (art. no. 611386) is the surface to use for all work with a rotary cutter. It gives clean cuts and protects the blade. A centimetre scale is printed on the front and an inch scale on the back, so you simply turn the mat to the side that matches your pattern.

At 30 × 45 cm, the mat is easy to handle for cutting fabric, patchwork strips and smaller projects, and it also fits on small work surfaces. The angle markings at 45° and 90° help you to line up the fabric and ruler squarely. For long lengths of fabric, the same mat is also available in 60 × 90 cm.

Cutting cleanly

Place the mat on a flat, firm table surface and line the fabric up with one of the lines on the scale. Position the ruler and run the rotary cutter away from you in one steady movement. The mat is soft enough not to damage the blade and firm enough to prevent cuts that are too deep. Use the scale for the measurement given in your pattern, and turn the mat over when you want to switch between cm and inches.
